Interactive Room for Luxury Hotels

Role
UX/UI · Product Design
Year

Platform
IoT · Mobile app

An in-room digital experience for luxury hotels. An IoT smart videowall connects with the guest's smartphone and combines their personal data with open-data services to suggest and help plan their visit. Guests control the videowall from their own phone, browse personal content on the displays and build a shareable diary of their stay.

Context

Luxury hospitality is about anticipation and personalization. The in-room screen is usually a dead TV; the opportunity was to make the room itself responsive to each guest.

Approach

I designed an IoT experience where the guest's phone is the remote: the videowall personalizes suggestions from their data plus open-data services and the stay becomes a personal, shareable diary, backed by documentation for the hardware and cloud setup.
